British newspaper says computers "could control aircraft"

Not in this country, mate
Tue Dec 31 2002, 09:18
A BRITISH NEWSPAPER with a web site has written a story about a computer.

And, it said, one day computers could be used for air traffic control.

The Munchester Graunida, which we've been reading every day it publishes a newspaper for 40 years, waxes lyrical about technology here.

But maybe its reporters should get out more and write about the semi-privatised NATS computer "in charge" of our "air traffic control system" over small village "London" which uses such antiquated technology that you can't distinguish between a "number two" and a "number eight" and have to get those poor buggers at West Drayton to get the white pieces of paper out.

Here and here.

Our next story today will be about cricket and Zimbabwe... ยต
