BIG BLUE has introduced an intelligent blade server designed to counter Denial of Service (DoS) attacks and viruses.
The BladeCenter PN41 reportedly utilises Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) technology from Cloudshield to run continuous network analysis and combat malicious activity.
According to Cloudshield CEO Matt Jones, the PN41 was “developed in response to demand from service providers that want datacentre economics applied to network services”.
Indeed, the new server allows service providers to efficiently manage network, security and telecommunications technology on a single integrated platform.
The PN41 was also designed to operate in tandem with Check Point Software applications.
Michael Anderson, the head of America security services at Check Point, explained that combining IBM hardware with SecureXL and CoreXL technologies will help “carriers and data centers increase the number of customer connections”. µ
