Ice trolls get the man, but it doesn't stop him

OUR READERS in Finland tell us that Richard Stallman of the Free Software Foundation arrived at Vaasa airport in Finland on the 21st October and had an accident.

Stallman was in Finland to deliver a speech at the GNU/Linux Free Software and Copyrights seminar last Wednesday.

"Unfortunately," as our reader writes, "the early and harsh winter of Finland managed to surprise him. Soon after his arrival Mr. Stallman slipped on the snow and ice-covered pavement and broke his arm". In three places, apparently.

"Despite the accident, Stallman has been a cheerful fellow and he delivered his speech over the phone while he was recovering at a hospital in Vaasa", our reader continued.

After he delivered his speech, Stallman was transferred to Helsinki, a 400 plus kilometer ride, for an operation on his arm.

And, at the end of his speech, an announcement asked if anyone handy with Emacs would care for a ride to Helsinki.

Someone took the offer up, apparently.

Here's some details of the seminar. µ
