CHARISMATIC COMPAQ CEO Mike "Curly" Capellas, who no doubt charmed his way into Carly Fiorina's HP affections with a 25,000 word post-it note, is to become the CEO of First Data Corp.

That follows the takeover of the firm by private equity firm KKR. Capellas succeeds former CEO Ric Duques.

alt='capcell'According to KKR, Capellas is a "world class executive" with a "strong track record for vision, innovation and value creation in large technology-related business."

KKR believes that his leadership will bear the hallmark for the "same excitement and passion for success that he brought to his previous companies."

Other businesses Capellas has helped steer include Oracle, SAP, Schlumberger. He's a board director of Cisco and on the board of the Boys and Girls Club of America.

KKR didn't mention his enormous talent for writing enormous memoranda to his staff. µ
