BT offers £67 million for Plusnet

TELCO GIANT BT said it has offered £67 million for Plusnet.

Plusnet, listed on AIM, has 200,000 broadband customers and if the offer is accepted it will carry on as a separate brand and operate from Sheffield.

BT said that the offer made great sense for BT, while Plusnet CEO Lee Strafford said the braodband sector is consolidating. "There are considerable benefits to Plusnet in becoming part of BT." µ
