Live another 10 years and you'll live forever

Top techie Kurzweil says the Singularity approaches

IF YOU'RE ON your last gasp hang on. Because according to a report on Tom Foremski's Silicon Valley Watcher, the Singularity will be with us pretty soon and we'll all have the chance to live forever.

He's reporting on Ray Kurzweil who has as many logarithmic graphs going upwards as there are micronutrient pills in a day.

An old boss of mine in the computer industry had a first class degree in biochemistry and she told me 20 years back that there were only a few creatures on the planet with as sturdy immune systems as humanoids.

Sharks, seagulls, cockroaches and humans. What a nightmare.

So if you are one of these lucky people who are going to live forever, perhaps you'd better start arranging an ocean life with vast tanks of sharks which you feed by cultivating vast flocks of seagulls that you catch and bung into the Briney. Seagull eggs aren't too bad you know. The guano will come in useful as a fertiliser for the moss to give us those greens we are told are so good for us. We can always make our shoes out of shark leather and wear our seagull feather hat at a jaunty angle. You can make wine out of almost any vegetable mass - guano wine probably isn't an option.

Enjoy your immortality. More here. µ
