Bequiet offers free eight pin upgrades

750 and 850W PSU owners will get free adaptors

LISTAN, OWNER of the Revoltec and Bequiet brands, made an interesting call for owners of its PSUs.

All owners of moddable 750W and 850W power supplies will get a set of free 8-pin adaptors for the up and coming Radeon HD 2900XT boards, so that two boards can be run in Crossfire and overclocked as well.

We heard from Dorothee from Listan about this initiative, and heard that the company decided to do this since it had to ship the power supplies before the final spec for R600 was finished. All owners that bought PSUs from December 2006 onwards will receive a free set of either two or four 8-pin adaptors, depending on their PSU configuration. These new adaptors are compatible with older 6-pin ones, so you will be covered even if some manufacturer comes out with two 8-pin adaptors per graphics board.

To make a long story short, this is a picture of the new adaptor. µ
