Techcrunch launches UK edition

Web 2.0 blog winds back the clock

"TONIGHT I'm going to party like it's 1999," as Prince once sang.

Web 2.0 blog Techcrunch had its official UK launch in London last night at a swanky bash attended by the capital's digerati, many of whom were on the scene this time 10 years ago when Web 1.0 was just getting going.

Techcrunch is a huge deal in the US with every paragraph combed over by cash-happy VCs seeking the Next Big Thing. The UK version has quietly been blogging away for a month or so under the auspices of Sam Sethi.

Sethi, of course, was at Netscape all those years ago. Truly, as Yogi Berra put it, it's like déjà vu all over again. µ
