Bent it like Beckham

VICTORIA AND DAVID BECKHAM’S housekeepers have been arrested on suspicion of flogging some of the celebrity couple’s stuff on Ebay.

Posh’s parents were apparently tipped off that their son-in-law and daughter’s designer outfits as well as Golden Balls’ football gear and an odd pair of his football boots, with his sons' names on them, were up for auction online.

Tony Adams, Victoria’s dad, purportedly asked his mates to pitch in and bid on some of the items, to ascertain they really did belong to the Beckhams.

The seller was claiming to be related to a staffer at David’s football academy and said he had to sell up due to financial difficulties. But when the plod were called in, they found that the details for the sellers matched the address of the Beckhams’ long-term housekeepers, Eric and June Emmett. The Emmetts had worked for the Beckhams for over a decade.

Reports say that, when Police raided the Emmetts’ home, they found a number of the listed items.

A friend of Posh and Becks allegedly told the Currant Bun: “David was livid when he found out.”

An Ebay spinner spluttered: “We are working with police to establish the facts. We will not tolerate stolen items being listed on the site.”

So the rules of the game are clear, any Ebay seller who flogs stolen goods will be sent off [to the police] and have to face a penalty.

Mrs Emmett is said to have told the Sun she was in no way guilty of any foul play and that “this has all come as a bolt from the blue.”

At this point, we feel we should throw in the fact that Mr Emmett’s Facebook profile describes himself as being “addicted” to shoes with an "interest" in Porsche 911s.

Victoria was apparently distraught and, upon arriving back in the UK, rushed back to Beckingham Palace to see what else had disappeared.

She is said to have kicked off a major security review and has already cha nged the locks with the goal of keeping the Emmetts out for good. µ
