Radio waves trap drivers out of cars

Rogue waves strike shoppers unawares
Fri Aug 01 2003, 15:54
A LOCAL WEB MAGAZINE in deepest Norfolk tells a strange tale indeed.

According to EDP24, dozens of shoppers found themselves locked out of their vehicles after immobilisers and electric locking systems shut down.

The article claims that the UK Radio Broadcasting Commission is investigating the case, because the failure is being put down to "rogue radio waves".

These types of radio waves typically have a shifty demeanour, and are often to be found loafing around on street corners, eyeing up the opportunities.

A Q&A in the New Scientist recently gave a possible answer to this problem.

But just to remind our non-UK readers, the official British Silly Season in the press starts today. Expect more of this for a while.

Here's the strange tale. ยต
