Hynix gets memory kicking from Taiwan Dramurai

It's in pieces, bits and pieces
Monday, 15 October 2007, 13:05

THE CHAIRMAN of Powerchip, a Taiwanese memory firm, has lashed out against Hynix for flooding the market with DRAM.

According to a report in Digitimes, Powerchip's Frank Huang blamed Hynix for the continuing slump in DRAM prices.

Taiwanese firms will only grow their bit shipments by 70 to 80 per cent, he said, while he alleged Hynix is planning 120 per cent growth in memory supplies.

The familiar refrain from Huang is that prices have hit rock bottom but all the memory makers have now been saying this for months.

Apparently the effect of Vista on increased memory sales won't kick in until two years down the road.

Meanwhile, a report on Taiwanese site Economic News reckons that Powerchip, in collaboration with Japanese DRAM maker Elpida, has just opened a further memory fab. ยต

12 gb=$600 cheap.

You need whats specified & large fast system need plenty of memory.

Even at $50 per gigabyte its $200 minimum job & snuggles with ULTIMATE today, yet as faster & greater demands are made with higher speeds in, more memory is first line of defense, so 3 slots per channel or 6 2 gb sticks with plenty o' ECC to control it all & reg if dr3/4
top speeders.
