Nvidia is in a nice deep bed with Sony so no surprises there. It has been supplying the Japanese giant with some HDMI-capable cards since February and is about to do the Playstation thang at some point.
The new Vaio desktop has Geforce 7600GT card and can cope with 25GB single-layer or 50GB dual-layer Blu-ray discs.
Sony is using Geforce Go 7600 card for its Blu-ray notebook and both cards can do H.264 and MPEG 2, hardware accelerated. Nvidia calls its marchitecture PureVidio HD but, if I was an Nvidian, I would call it Nvidio HD.
We we don't know why rival ATI is napping here, as it obviously has some very cool video features and can do some quality video. We tried it, and we're not too boggled-eyed to tell.
Nvidia is getting serious about its High Definition content support and I am trying to play with this as we speak, to check those lofty claims. µ
