STONE GROUP, an IT provider to the public sector said it has bought assets of Rock Group plc for a piddling "undisclosed consideration".

The firm said it wants to offer a range of high-end notebook products to its public sector customers. It said it wil continue to use the Rock brand as well as secure "full ongoing warranty support for existing customers".

Rock went into administration earlier this month, when most of th estaff were sent home. It looks like some at least may now be gainfully employed

On behalf of Rock, CEO Nick Boardman said the deal was a "tremendous opportunity" .

He said it was vital "that customers’ historic warranties will be supported going forward. Everyone can continue to buy Rock products with confidence." µ
