Apple loses out in smart phone market

Forget the hype it is still a bit player

FRUIT FLAVOURED toymaker, Apple is losing its grip in the smartphone market according to research firm IDC's vendor survey.

Apple's Iphone took only 19.2 per cent of the US market for smartphones in the first quarter of 2008, down from 26.7 per cent sold in the fourth quarter of last year.

To be fair to Apple [you never have been before - Sub Ed] it has been draining its stores this year as it prepares to flog the 3G version of the Jesus phone later this month.

However, the figures do show that Apple remains an also-ran behind RIMs Blackberry which held 35.1 per cent of the market in the fourth quarter and then 44.5 per cent in the first.

IDC analyst Ramon Llamas said interest in the Blackberry, which had been limited to business users, had now moved into the consumer segment, which was Apple's playground. µ

have No place on the playground, much less, on your Jesus phone.
Smart Phone is a bit of an oxymormon.
Kindly take your watch towers off the hook.
