Spansion knocks Intel off NOR lead

Market share rankings for 2006
Thu Feb 08 2007, 16:33
MARKET RESEARCH FIRM iSuppli said its preliminary ranking of the world's top five NOR flash suppliers last year showed SPansion ruled the roost.

The firm said its share grew to 30.4 per cent in 2006, up from 26.1 per cent in 2005. But it wasn't "roses, roses" for any of the players. Average selling prices (ASPs) bit the vendors, with that most noticeable in the mobile phone segment.

In the last quarter of 2006, however, iSuppli said Intel showed a surge in share with NOR sales rising to $531 million. The figures in this table below represent rankings by revenue in millions of US dollars, courtesy of iSuppli. ยต
