CHIP FIRM AMD released an add in board with heaps of memory designed for workstations and servers.

AMD spinners dub this the "stream processor". Basically it's a PCI Express board with 1GB of GDDR 3 memory, has a three year limited guarantee, and includes OS support and service.

AMD is selling it through its long suffering distributors, but Panta and Rackable are flogging systems which include it. We don't know how much the add in board costs, because AMD didn't say. µ
