Microsoft hangs on to Hotmail name

Windows Live merges old with new

ALTHOUGH software giant Microsoft is shifting its online services to a "Windows Live" moniker, marketing Voles have opted to keep the name 'Hotmail'.

Vole has been planning for months to kill off the Hotmail name as it overhauled the ancient web mail service.

But yesterday a SpokesVole announced that the revamped service, still in beta testing phase, is being renamed "Windows Live Hotmail" rather than the originally planned "Windows Live Mail."

Writing in his bog, Senior Product Manager Richard Sim said some people had found the name change confusing.
