On that date, it's expected to release Xeons with 800MHz front side buses at frequencies of 2.8GHz, 3GHz, 3.2GHz, 3.4GHz and 3.6GHz.
These use a PPGA 604 pin socket that comes with a heat spreader, and Intel is recommending active fan heat sinks for non ducted chassis, a passive heat sink for 2U+ rack mount and a ducted chassis, and a 1U heat sink for rack mount.
These chips also support Intel Speedstep at speeds of 3.4GHz and above, support hyperthreading, and come with Extended Memory 64 Technology - iAMD64.
As we now know, Intel already had enabled 64-32 abilities in its Prescott core, and engineers only have to throw a virtual switch to turn these on.
Chipsets supporting the Xeon Noconas include the E7520, the E7525 and the E7320 families.
Intel said at its Developer Forum earlier this year that it won't enable EM64T for desktop machines until Windows 64 XP becomes live.
