Single-slot dual GPU card from ATI pictured

Hardware Roundup Nine-Watt dual-core Intel CPU spotted

HKEPC GOT SOME photos of the new twin GPU card from HIS. The HIS Gemeni is a single slot card with a rather long PCB. It has two DVI outputs and a dual fan cooling solution. The GPU used are X1600XT ones and the memory is a 1.4ns Infineon DDR3 parts. It ends up costing as much as a X1900 but without the performance. There are a few more news about Dual Core pricing and a 9w Dual Core part from Intel.

Hardwarezone reviews the Gigabyte GV-NX76T256D-RH video card. Yet another silent Geforce 7600GT would one say. The GPU and the memory run at stock speed and the card comes with two DVI-I links and one TVO. The card does not carry any significant advantages over competitors like the EN7600GT from Asus apart from the price. Indeed, even if it is a non-traditional video card - as it is fitted with a heat sink cooling system, it carries a price similar to other 7600GTs.

Tweaktown has the first review of the MSI 915GM Speedster FA-4 motherboard that has graced those pages. You guessed it right, it is a socket 479 compatible motherboard destined to take on the successor of the Pentium M. It is compatible both with DDR and DDR2 modules and offers two GbE ports and four SATA ones. On top of that it offers a TVO, two Firewires, eight USBs but stay clear from it if you are looking for an overclocker. It is cheap but already obsolete to some extent.

Hexus looks at Foxconn C51XEM2AA motherboard which comes with the Nforce 5 590 SLI. The performance and range of features offered compares very well to the competition although there is a price war being waged at the top. The Foxconn is the SLI reference motherboard used in most reviews and therefore is a safe bed overall. Surprising that Foxconn has come that far in terms of performance.

IT-review compares the socket 939 performance to that of the AM2. IT-review tests a 3800+ single core and a 4600+ dual core, both clocked at 2.4GHz with 512KB L2 cache. Same conclusion inferred with regards to performance and general getup. This is an evolution rather than a revolution. The AM2 wins marginally over the socket 939 and the gap will only keep on increasing with time and as systems are fine-tuned.

Techage and Rob Williams test the Arctic Cooling Silentium T2 casing. It has six drive bays, and four fans. Reviewer found that the pros were outweighed by the cons. It keeps everything cooling pretty silently. There is no manual, the installation was rather frustrating and the only way to turn the PSU off was to pull the plugs WTF. Other than that, you had to remove front panels to install the CDROMS. µ
