"the Inquirer" needs a color makeover REALLY REALLY BAD. I can't read on this site for even 2 minutes w/out having my eyes start shifting and feeling a headache come on.
Where's the fire?
Really, you think a bright red colored masthead (the same color used to paint fire engines) and a bright red main nav with white type is necessary to draw reader's attention? Oh, and how about those hyperlinks in royal blue. Great. You guys are patriotic. I get it.
It's a shame you have to act like the readers are in kindergarten by using these bold, over-the-top, super-bright colors. I mean, the content looks like it would be interesting I just can't get to it. It's like having the sun shine in your eyes.

Otellini: We see a distinctive advantage in having all the cores on one die work.
Ah, but Intel only has two cores on one die with Penryn. AMD sees a distinct advantage in having three and four cores on a die work, in comparison to Intel having two cores on a die work.

Subject: the I-what?
While reading your (fine) article about the Jesus Phone, I couldn't help but wonder what could happen if the Cappuccino boys enter the loo market: apart from the (trivial) I-sh..., they may have a strong suit with I-pee, which would grant'em lots of free advertisement not only on the web but on networks in general (everybody and their dogs know about the I-Pee address...).They may also try to sue the Internic for using "IP" (which would be obviously an implicit reference to the I-Pee brand). As for myself, I guess that the money i MIGHT throw away for a Jeesus-Phone will be spent instead for a much less technological gadget... the I-Swim, for with that kind of money I can get all-year access to a nice swimming pool.
But of course, there's no trace of I-brain, here....
Cheers,
Andrea

Subject: OOo 2.3.0
You state: "OPEN ORIFICE, the "multiplatform and multilingual office suite and open-source project" (it says here) has suffered an update"
And you know? It's great. I did not need an auto update, I did not need a WGA, I did not need a reboot.
What I did not need was a "presentation" like yours.
Now, I suppose that you had a bad day at the office and had to "vent off". (I understand!).
Or did a "vole check" flew by?
While I am at it. Let us decide which version of your site we would like to read. (I do not need a french or dutch version!)
Have a good night and all will be better!

Subject: Open Office
Open Office is ok! It's free and nearly works at least as well as MS office 2000.
The OO website does seem to get their proportions for only people using 1600x1200, which I think was at last guess "most professionals"!, and what about your own site? what is that 800 pixels wide, and when viewing a story with ads the first paragraph is only 2 inch wide!
I suspect you guys get most of your readership based on people agreeing with your opinions or finding them funny, because there are other news sites. (although yours seems to have more inside/indepth info than others?) But I would have thought that you would at least agree that anything that enables people to work more efficiently is a good thing.
Open source works.

p.s. red is so tabloid. Methinks you have site size envy.
Subject: AMD twitters while home burns
You would have to be a twit or half-wit to think that site will boost AMD's image and sales. You have to spend moneu to make money and AMD don't have the money (or don't get good ROI for marketing $'s). Regards,

Subject: Open Office Article
While I agree that the OOo website layout blows, there's no need to insult the software. There are plenty of people worldwide that cannot afford the a$$ raping that Microsoft delivers in the form of Office (or choose not to).
And for those of us that run Linux as their desktop exclusively, OpenOffice is the only real alternative. Running MS Office in Wine blows. And while I have the option of running MS Office in my VMware instance of XP, I choose not to.

I don't know if you noticed the small print on BBspot, so here goes: "BBspot is a satire news and comedy source and meant to be funny. If you are easily offended, gullible or don't have a sense of humor we suggest you go elsewhere."
Now you should either put a disclaimer in the article, or get a sense of humor if you actually thought that's for real.

Confusing when you headline 'IDF send man into a tizz', when you know the IDF as being the Israeli Defence Force. :]
(I obviously understand you mean intel, who typically stole an acronym and no doubt then tried to patent it)

..can we issue a fatwa on the MSN reporter who declared the AMD 3-core chip was, in fact, a 3-brained chip?

Subject: Symantec, BBC implicated in phishing scam
"Our lawyers add: In the interests of fairness, we would like to point out that Symantec is not the only company guilty of duping innocent BBC journalists by sending them convincing-looking emails. Organisations including Apple, McAfee, Apple, Kapersky Labs, Apple, Postini, Apple, Scansafe, Apple, ICSA Labs, Apple, Thompson Cyber Security Labs and Apple have also been implicated in similar scams."
You forgot to add the company behind the iPod (whoever they are) to that list. That pesky company has been dominating the hand-held deafening market for years now....
In all seriousness,

Subject: Barca Late
After reading Dano's comments to your article I felt compelled to add a note. The delay in Barcelona had less to do with any 65nm manufacturing and more to do with the tape out being over a year late then major silicon bugs being found. The AMD Austin engineers have not produced anything worthy or on time since the K7 nearly 10 years ago. They were basically given this project after the K10 was canceled in a dramatic all hands Hector meeting in Austin, and only under the guise that they would work hand-in-hand with the Sunnyvale team.
In an effort to actually get it done it was also taped out considerably butchered of many of the planned features that would have made it compete with Intel's quad offering.
To quote Randy Allen in Austin, "Getting Barcelona out the door, was like a monkey trying to F*** a football".. (American Football)
Sincerely,
B

If this be true, it will make microsoft the laughing stock of the computer world which it deserves. My feeling about my two free vista upgrades is that they could have done so much better. What where they thinking? apparently there weren't.I recently picked an old computer with a Pentium 2 400mz and 256 ram. I installed windows me on it and found the drivers.I could not believe how quick it was.I now have my home built core duo E6400 and 4gb ram with a evga 8800gts.It should be a super computer but with vista its pretty much a dog. What a scam.

Subject: Mashipedia
So Yahoo!'s trying to emulate Wikipedia then ? I wonder what the use of that is. Tell me this is someone's summer job ? Or that some is so desperate for reasons to touch his keyboard that he goes and programs wacky, useless apps after his work hours ?
In other words, please do not tell me that this is the result of an official board-level meeting where a bunch of guys in suits decided that the best strategy to counter Google was to allow script kiddies to mess up other people's info without even needing the l33t code.
Really, we already had the disasters that are MySpace, Facebook and the utopian Wiki, now we have Mash as well. MashSpaceBookepedia, for People With More Time Than Sense.
It's getting time to pull the plug, really.

Subject: How to compete with microsoft
What kind of stupidity are you trying to pedal? Microsoft got themselves fined because (1) they hold a monopoly position in the OS market, (2) they repeatedly leveraged that position to force their own products onto the market in preference to 3rd party products, and (3) having been found guilty of (2) and been told to document their APIs so that 3rd party companies would have a chance to compete (undocumented APIs being an MS favourite to lock out third parties from goddies built into the system), they tried to pay lip-service by providing unusable gibberish (according to their own nominated expert even).
Non of the above allows some third party company to beat Microsoft without trying.
