StarForce claims victory over complaints

That will stop them happening
Thursday, 2 February 2006, 07:42
MAKER OF copy prevention software, Starforce has a novel way of dealing with complaints and rumours about its system.

It says that people should write and explain in detail how its gear went wrong. It even set up a web page with a $10,000 reward if a person could re-create any problems with hardware on demand for them.

Since it is jolly difficult for anyone to do this, particularly over an email, Starforce got no takers. The only way for anyone to show how it went wrong really is to go to the Starforce office and point it out.

However, since Starforce is based in Moscow that is a bit of a problem. Now Starforce is claiming a total victory over those who claimed its kit was faulty after setting parameters which were largely impossible to meet.

Meanwhile detractors against Starforce kit have hit back. NGH has offered Starforce to come to its offices in the UK to prove that its allegations are not true.

It wants Starforce to also look at the Code 41 error, the DMA step down which still occurs and why the gear grants Ring 0 access to Ring 3 level programs and clashes with SCSI and SATA systems.

Starforce's attitude to the DMA is that it doesn't exist. Even though it has been clearing up the problems in the wake of their so called protection software.

It was the NGH which posted the DMA fix, the Code 41 fix and explained the other problems which in certain rare circumstances cause hardware failure. ยต
