WEB INSECURITY OUTFIT Barracuda Networks, Inc. said it has completed the acquisition of firewall firm Netcontinuum.

The combined firm will push into the Application Delivery Controller (ADC) market, combining web application security, traffic management and SSL acceleration, according to its announcement.

Dean Drako, president and CEO of Barracuda Networks reckons that by combining Barracuda Networks' channel strengths with Netcontinuum products, the firm will reach customers previously unable to deploy decent web site security.

Barracuda Networks says it will maintain support for NetContinuum's products and increase investment in product development in the ADC product category. The majority of NetContinuum's 75 employees have also joined the Barracuda Networks team, it says. Some have received their P45s.

The enlarged firm reaffrimed its commitment to its channel partners. µ
