Geeks give up trying to get Bill Gates to run for president

No legs

A GROUP OF VOLISH fanbois has abandoned its attempts to get the world's richest bloke to run in the 2008 US presidential elections.

Billy Gates has ruled himself out of the running before, but that didn't stop a bunch of geeks trying to persuade him to have a go.

According to them, Gates would make a "good president" because he's rich, rational, unselfish and knows management."

But last week, having tried really hard by bunging a website on the Interweb, the sad collection of geeks gave up. "Bill Gates probably noticed and read the website and our arguments," they posted optimistically, "but he probably didn't feel the drive needed to go for that presidential candidacy."

Gates has presided over a firm that has run rough-shod over the rules of competiton in business, so he'd probably have no problem doing the same to the rules on international engagement, like the present encumbent.
