London Times loses grip on reality

Thinks computer games are real
Thu Aug 09 2007, 12:57
IS IT A GAME OR IS IT REAL? The London Times today runs a salacious story listing dramatic motor racing crashes and providing handy Youtube links enabling readers to check out the gory details.

'Car crash miracle men', shouts the headline, before diving into a list of high speed smashes including Dario Franchitti's lucky escape in Michigan, Martin Brundle's aerobatics in Melbourne and a selection of Riccardo Patrese shunts.

But the excitement of it all was obviously too much for the unnamed Times hack involved. The final clip of a safety car smacking into a bunch of racers comes from the rFactor computer game rather than real life - a fact sadly not noticed by The Thunderer. µ
