Qimonda sends DDR 3 memory to ATI

Because it's a huge chipset firm. Eh?

THE SOON to be spun off division of Infineon, Qimonda, said it has provided the first DDR-3 SO-DIMM samples to ATI, for, it says, for future notebook designs.

Qimonda claims that ATI is the "fastest growing independent chipset company".

Notebook PCs using Qimonda DDR-3 SO-DIMMs will become available next year.

We hadn't realised that ATI was in the ODM (original design manufacturer) notebook business, but you learn something new in this biz every day, it appears.
