AN AUSSIE WOMAN who sought to run off with the 17-year-old she met playing World of Warcraft faces child abduction charges.

Tamara Broome, 31, from Adelaide was arrested in the US on June 26. Prosecutors say she intended to kidnap the "minor" and fly him to Oz.

The woman has spent the past week in a county detention centre in North Carolina and will face the beak on July 11, charged with attempting to abduct the young fellow she met online.

The pair apparently corresponded both in and out of the online game for more than a year.

On June 12, the parents of the 17-year old reported him missing. The fuzz subsequently found him at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport attempting to fly to Australia.

Broome was arrested and could face up to two years in a US jail. Relatives claim she was stitched up by the boy's parents.
