NEUROK OPTICS has released a 22-inch widescreen 3D monitors which it claims can replace a 2D monitor.

The new iZ3D monitor apparently has a "commercial-grade image quality" and display brightness as well as the first S-3D drivers to be compatible with Nvidia's Geforce 8 Series and the ATI FireGL V3600 workstation graphics accelerator.

Thomas Striegler, CEO of Neurok Optics, said all popular games and many new movies are now created in 3D. The monitor means that most viewers are can to see the game or movie as it is meant to be seen in 3D.

You still need to wear polarised glasses for 3D monitor viewing, but apparently the screen is optimised to use them.

The 22-inch widescreen 3D monitors will come at you for $1,000.
