Tom's Hardware revises 3.6GHz P4 EEs benchmarks

The 3.4GHz and 3.6GHz Pentium EE thingie aren't out yet

A NOTE on the Pabster (Tom's Hardware Guide) explains it's updated its benchmark scores to eliminate Pentium 4 Extreme Edition 3.4GHz and 3.6GHz microprocessors.

The site explains that in addition to the Pentium 4 Exscream Edition 3.2GHz benchmarks, it had also included benchmarks for the 3.4GHz and 3.6GHz EEs too.

These Xeon MPs are not yet formally announced, but it was provided with an unlocked Pentium 4EE, and we here at the INQ can't really blame it for cranking up the speed.

The site says that it is apologising to readers who misunderstood its earlier reports, but makes the valid point that the P4 EE that Intel gave it doesn't have a multiplier lock on it, and so it can't really be blamed for overclocking the Xeon MP.

We can completely understand why it hasn't included the 3.4GHz and 3.6GHz of the Pentium 4EEs... they're not even on Intel's Xeon MP roadmap yet.
