RD600 will be AMD's last chipset for Intel

DFI determined to bring it to market
Friday, 8 December 2006, 09:29
DFI (Diamond Flower International) is the only company that appears to be brave enough to make an RD600 board. Intel won't be happy about it but DFI won't make many of these boards anyway.

Early reports claims that this might be the best overclocking board for Intel CPUs of all time. It is supposed to be even faster than the Nforce 680i but fortunately for Nvidia there won't be many RD600 boards around.

Intel insisted to potential customers that this will be the last AMD chipset for Intel, ever. The former ATI chipset team could continue making good Intel chipset but this is now very unlikely to happen.

Intel won't get the latest ATI chipset marchitecture as it is part of AMD now and Nvidia won't give its latest cards to AMD as this would mean giving it directly to ATI. So the AMD takeover of ATI continues to change the industry landscape, yet again. ยต
