UNLESS Nvidia opens up its SLI and gives it away to mighty Intel, the big green one might lose out to its red competitor.

We hear there is a big concern going around, as Intel's 975 board and upcoming Conroe, Core Duo CPUs will work with Crossfire only.

We know that Nvidia's double Northbridge Nforce 590 for Intel is coming but, as any fule knoweth, Intel makes the best chipsets for its CPUs.

Intel's chipset will overclock well and the memory will work significantly faster than the DDR 2 800MHz specs. It will get to far more than 1066MHz and right now Nvidia's Nforce 590 SLI cannot cope with that much speed.

Of course, both Nvidia and ATI as well as VIA and SIS will have its Conroe Core duo compliant chipsets but we are still confident that no one can beat Intel at its own chipset game.

So we are still anxious to see whether Nvidia might open up its SLI and give it away to Intel or will it remain conservative about its precious SLI marchitecture? µ
