BFG cooler cools cooler

Thermo meant the pod went pop
Tue Jul 03 2007, 12:05
A FAVOURED PURVEYOR of Green Team graphics boards, BFG has announced a new cooling system for its cards that it says will radically reduce chip temperatures whilst keeping acoustic disruption to a bare minimum.

Dubbed Thermointelligence, in what must have been an incredibly tough marketing meeting, the cooler looks pretty much like a standard Nvidia single slot cooler. Except, we are assured, it isn't.

The new cooler can cool the GPU up to 11C better than the standard Nvidia cooler, and the Thermointelligence will debut on the 8600 GTS OC2. Of course, cooler temperature means more overclocking headroom, and the OC2 comes in at 720/2220MHz, as opposed to the standard 675/2000MHz for the 8600 GTS.

We'll be watching forums up and down the interwibble to see whether or not the cooling can live up to the 'hype'. In the mean time, check it out for yourself ici. µ
