Quad 7950 driver to come at the end of summer

Computex 2006 Takes time, as SLI
Wednesday, 7 June 2006, 04:13
NVIDIA announced its 7950 cards and as we said it will brand these as a single card rather than an SLI double, double jeopardy.

Those ones are really putting ATI's X1900 XTX cards under pressure, especially because of the very low price. But there is still no driver that can make two of those cards work together.

And it turns out that there is more than that.

Nvidia won't release a Quad SLI capable driver as soon as we all hoped. Geforce 7950 will get its Quad SLI by the end of the summer. Don't kill the messenger for bringing this upsetting news but a chap from Nvidia confirmed this to me yesterday.

Just as Nvidia announced SLI and then it took its time to finish its driver it will need time to finish the driver for four cards. No conspiracy theory - the green company just wants to do things right. ยต
