Gigabyte shows off second gen RAM disk

Computex 007 GC-RAMDISK in a new box
Mon Jun 04 2007, 21:26
ONE TOY THAT Gigabyte has hidden away at its booth is the successor to last year's ramdisk on a card, the GC-RAMDISK. This one is in a 5.25-inch drive bay and it is called the GO-RAMDISK.

It really isn't much more than a repackaging of the GC into a more palatable and accessible form factor. It still has the same 4GB limit and only works over 1.5Gbps SATA, something that is not a problem for magnetic drives but might be here.

In the end, you have a GC with status LEDs and a battery check button. Nothing astounding, simply nicer and more user friendly. If the GC was interesting to you, the GO should more and better, but not all that much more. µ
