ECS buys Uniwill

Mobo domino to go
Wednesday, 2 August 2006, 08:54
ELITEGROUP said it will buy Uniwill in a share swap.

Two shares of Uniwill are worth one share of ECS with a target date of December for completion of the acquisition.

Uniwill is a so-called "original design manufacturer" (ODM) producing notebooks subsequently branded by the channel.

The move represents a continuing consolidation in the Taiwanese computer business. Earlier this year, ECS picked up the desktop PC division of Taiwanese giant Tatung. The full press release is at AMD Zone. That release said a statement was made to the Taiex bourse. µ
