EVGA wants to turn your world upside down

Competition could turn your insides out
Wednesday, 22 November 2006, 11:07
WHILE WE USUALLY don't mention contests which are usually nothing more but a bit of free promo for vendors, we just had to turn your attention to a pretty original contest.

EVGA is running a contest in search for the highest 3DMark06 score. In order to be able to qualify, you have to become a member of EVGA's on-line community. This does not mean you need to buy EVGA products. Then you can start submitting your best scores in 3DMark06. Right now, the highest score was touching the 16K barrier at 15.926 3dmarks. The contest ends on December 15th, so there is still time to enter and try to win the flying experience of a lifetime. That is, at least until Virgin Galactic takes off.

The prize is flying inside the very same aircraft that NASA is using for training the astronauts. Or should we say, giving astronauts their first zero-g experience. This is a very cool award, to say the least, if you don't mind vomiting at altitude.

Two winners from Americas and one winner from Europe will be given economy class tickets from their respective destinations to Fort Lauderdale in Florida on January 18-19th until the 21st.
The zero-G flight is scheduled for January 20th, 2007.

To end on a high note, I wonder whether Iwill - now Flextronics - be able to honour the 1997 coupons for the "first commercial flight to the moon"... I still keep mine in "Theo's museum of modern and historical hardware and software components". µ
