Ramp de-railed. Oh, Barcelona
Tue Jul 03 2007, 11:03
TECH HACK Mark Osborne has blasted Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) for being a nanometre or two short on volumes of Soitec wafers.

On his bog, Mark points to a statement Soitec made yesterday, warning that its revenues will drop 15 per cent in the first half of its financial year.

Soitec supplies its silicon on sinsulator wafers to Nintendo and Sony as well as AMD.

But Mark reckons AMD is the culprit in the firm's shorfall and the Barcelona "ramp" isn't going too well.

There's more about this and it's here, now. µ
