A NEW SPIN is being put on the horrors of the Katrina aftermath in New Orleans in a first hand account by the workers at directnic.com.

The workers are taking sanctuary in a high-rise in New Orleans, pumping kerosene into their backup generators and observing the chaotic goings on in the city from their building. To get a real grasp on just how desperate the situation is at the moment, you can take a look at their constantly updating blog which offers a fresh firsthand look at the whole disaster.

An entry from yesterday includes an interview one of the survivors had with a local personality, "Bigfoot," a DJ who tells his story. It's mandatory reading, and gives an idea of just how desperate the situation is. µ
