GETACODER.COM has a bit of a bizarre job add from a person looking for a developer who can single handedly do what Microsoft couldn't.

According to the ad here, M.Reinhardt wants to hire a developer to pen a new operating system that looks different than Microsoft Windows XP but has the same style.

The new operating system does not need to run on a mac but "all the other PCs". Reinhardt wants a "stylish look with clear edges". He said that he did not want a redesigned Windows as he is "going to sell that operating system later on".

Apparently it is going to be called BlueOrb, so Reinhardt has worked out a name for his project.

The operating system should have all Windows XP Professional's features and be compatible with it. It must have a user friendly interface and be hacker safe. Oh and it must be "quick and good looking".

Reinhardt is a tough employer he said that he will “only accept quality work and do not want any quickly done BS".

He also has the grand sum of $3,000 to spend on a project which would have Microsoft quaking in its boots if it works.

There are a few bids to the post one bloke said he would take a break from his nonotech based / atomic fission driven search engine "tha'ts going to make Larry Page wet his pants". IHe said it would take him six days to code and he would write it in scratch using C and blindfolded. We are not sure how serious he was.

One thing that is amusing is that there are genuine people who are bidding for the project, although most of them want about $500,000. µ

Do you think the move was justified?
