Nvidian financial year ends on the up

Graphics chip “defines the modern PC”

NVIDIAN Q4 revenue hit $1.2 billion up 37 per cent year on year bringing profits of $257 million to the graphics chip outfit.

Annual turnover was its highest ever at $4.1 billion with profit up 78 per cent at nearly $800 million by January 28th year end. GPU business grew 80 per cent thanks to Apple and Google Earth it said.

"The richness of the graphics is increasingly central to our computing experience. And at the core of that experience is the GPU, the processor that defines the modern PC," blithered Jen-Hsun Huang, CEO of Nvidia in a statement.

Among its highlights were the launch of the GeForce 8800s, buying Mental Images and Ageia and being named named Most Respected Public Company by members of the Fabless Semiconductor Association for the second consecutive year, the firm crowed. µ

Apple?

What does Apple have to do with discrete GPU business? Should they be even mentioned? Dont they stick a 2600 something in they machines anyways? Everyone is sucking up to apple these days!

NVDA

Too bad Nividia's stock sank over 16% today because of moronic, nervous investors. Nvidia is one of the strongest companies in the tech sector, there is no reason for them to be bleeding this much...
