AMD, Intel tear up protection order

And start to re-write it
Wednesday, 31 May 2006, 10:10
PRESSURE FROM witnesses subpoenad by AMD and Intel in the antitrust case they are fighting has caused Tweedledum and Tweedledee to go back to the drawing board and re-write it.

We reported last week that Dell, Avnet, Best Buy and the world+dog had objected to AMD and Intel's proposed protection order because all sorts of secret things might spill out that they would have no control over.

But the objections were so manifold and also involve lawyers acting for the numerous class actions that everything is not yet straight.

It will take some time to sort everything out because lawyers for AMD, Intel and the class acts will have to all agree or disagree with nineteen different sets of lawyers acting for Dell, Avnet, Best Buy and world+dog. ยต
