Innovation is a lot like new, except it's got more letters in it
AS MASTER HALES mentioned earlier today the 4850 flood gates are bursting and the numbers are rapidly seeping through the cracks. The worst kept secret ever has been populating the web today – we’re currently fiddling with one and so far the temps really are that high.
Still, the preemptive launch might not be a bad thing since DAAMIT continues to offer an excellent price/performance ratio with the 4850.
The “previews” in no particular order:

Still following-up on this week’s graphics card launch bonanza, Hilbert at Guru3D published his review of the BFG GeForce GTX 280 OC edition. That didn’t take long to pop up did it? Performance gains are marginal, but you can’t expect much from a 15MHz core / 54MHz memory overclock, can you? Still, it’s important for a company to say they’ve got the biggest… err… sorry, *fastest* one out there. Hilbert’s review right here.
Think Computers has its go at a K10N750SLI-WiFi nForce 750a mobo. You could guess it was Asrock as soon as you started reading the name… it looks like Asrock has been hitting the nails on the head with their latest launches, and this one is another winner thinks Frank. It does give you a lot of performance on a non-Intel CPU mobo, which is definitely a plus for the Phenom crowd. Cheap, like $139-cheap. Read on.
Computer Shopper is reviewing the Hypersonic Avenger AG2 laptop. This is a 12.1-inch laptop built for pure CPU performance rather than gaming or battery life. In its attempt to be the ultimate performer, it really sucks at battery and graphics. Sure it’s teeny-tiny and it’s yellow, but it has (quoting) “abysmal battery life”. Still, it has 4GB o’RAM and a 200GB HD. Quite interesting and not at all expensive. It might appeal to some types of users. $1599, it seems. Read on.
Overclocking Phenoms has been a really big challenge, even for the greatest of overclockers. OCIA has published a guide to Phenom overclocking. They’ll tell you all the tricks on how to do it, and how to select the ideal Phenom for overclocking. If you already have one… then the best you can do is find out how far you can take it. Worth a read. µ
Thats so weird! so so weird, I was on HEXUS earlier and saw a preview that showed the 4850 floping against a 8800gt badly....

Ooh and by magic it's... it's.... it's GONE!

Funny how it wasn't consistant with any other previews??? must of been some kinda mistake.

Oh and btw Hexus also happens to be in bed with scan and scan charges £150 still for an OC 3870. Up to date nVidia pricing though! right on the ball with that one and all those front page nvidia adverts.

Probably just me being parinoid I guess :)
So the inquirer prides itself on not taking part in an NDA yet all of its "friends" are obviously a part of the NDA. They have the "more to show" bs thing going on. Maybe someone needs to wind up their keys so they can clang their cymbals a bit more, the monkeys.

You use their crappy, prostituted form of "journalism" to write articles while patting yourselves on the back that you are "keeping it real" by not signing NDA's. That is pretty sad.

Where did Theo go??
Well look at that, this isn’t the first time those crooks at Hexus have played favourites with corporate bullies.

Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeellouts!!!
The gates are open indeed! I just picked up a Sapphire 4850 for a total of $215 Canadian including taxes! Online retailers in the country have started to sell PowerColor versions for around $200 as well.

This card is HOT - idles at mid 70s!
