Xbox 360 gets skinned alive

Hardware Roundup e-wibble
Thu Jan 18 2007, 10:00
IN TODAY'S HARDWARE ROUNDUP we start with Hardware.info who takes a look at Intel 965/975 mainboards for Core 2 Duo. All in all they test ten motherboards from several major manufacturers. The final choice is not clear cut as it depends a lot on what you're looking for and what your budget is, but it looks like the Foxconn board is overall best choice and probably a good starting point for just about everyone.

TweakPC ended 2006 with a roundup of some DDR2 memory and have continued the trend into 2007 with a review of DDR2 1000 up to 1200 High End RAM - Kingston HyperX. The review is automatically translated from German so brace yourself for some rather odd sentences.

BIOS magazine has reviewed Panda Software Internet Security 2007 and much like its namesake it seems pretty ineffectual, something of an evolutionary dead-end. Unfortunately is looks like you'd be better off going for a different product to protect your PC.

PC Perspective has been powering up with no less than Three Ultra ATX Power Supplies Reviewed: X-Pro and X-Finity. Of the three power supplies reviewed there is one 600W version and two 800W units, all of which perform remarkably well and are well designed.

The CES round ups continue to pop up here and there as Virtual-Hideout brings us the CES 2007: Part 2 (Intel & Lian Li) which continues its look at what the best of what various vendors had to offer.

Similarly PlanetX64 has put up the CES 2007 - Summary Report which includes a section on some of the more funny and interesting bits of kit found after delving into the maze of booths, including a floating gaming chair for when you want to play your video games from the pool in the summer.

Most gamers know that the Xbox 360 has a range of changeable face plates available to help spruce your console, Rbconsoles has given us the Xbox DecalGirl Skins Review who make adhesive skins for the original Xbox and 360 to help add an even greater sense of individuality and give you something to look at during those long loading screens. µ

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
