Vista security war of words escalates

Who flung dung at whom
Friday, 20 October 2006, 15:55
THE BICKERING between Microsoft and makers of insecurity software is continuing.

Microsoft today slung a fistful of mud back at McAfee claiming the wee upstart slung some first.

McAfee was said to be heading for nearby puddly terrain to re-arm. Reports of the Vole preparing to unleash its patented but untried Mud Slinger of Mass Destruction technology remain unconfirmed.

A Vole on the front line claimed that much of McAfee's ammo was inaccurate, though inflammatory, said a Reuters reporter in the trenches.

An earlier pot-shot had been in launched from Brussels where the Volish offensive had been branded "hollow".

Whether the Vole will be forced to further expose itself before the Vista front is fully opened up is anyone's guess. It seems likely to benefit from the pussy footing about, however. ยต
