3D Marks on Intel 915G chipset quite impressive

Early drivers as well

WHEN INTEL introduces its 915G chipset in the next few months, it will include its next generation integrated graphics system.

Sources at a motherboard manufacturer tell us that they have done some preliminary testing on this baby - the configuration is a 915G with a Prescott 3.6GHz Intel CPU (the 560), and two Samsung DDR 400 memory sticks, amounting to 512MB.

The system uses early graphics drivers but even using these, it scores a 3DMark01 score of 5,340.

While this doesn't match the heady heights of anything Nvidia or ATI is readying in its corporate back rooms, it's clear that's pretty respectable for an integrated graphics chipset. ยต
