X800XT PE orders pushed back to November

Some shiny stock available

IT'S ALMOST JUST A PRESS edition but you can buy the Radeon X800XT PE. If you are very persistent, as our reader saya, who found quite few of them in German and US shops. We will share some of his links with you. You can see you see some of these cards here, here, here, here and in USA here and here. The list is much longer.

Still If you go through those and many other links you will find out that you actually can not buy those cards in many of those shops. You have to wait one to two weeks and the prices will go up to $700 in the USA or close to €600. Even for that money you will have to wait.

No one from ATI's partners was happy to confirm that she or he it have stocks of these cards and it's still hard to get even X800XT, the one that runs at 500/1000 MHz.

The last we heard and what ATI support is telling people is that they might have more cards in the middle of November.

It's sad but true that you might get the R480 quicker than your X800XT PE card. Keep your eyes open for Nvidia's Geforce 6800 Ultra availability, its numbers are not better at all. We can now confirm that both companies cocked a snook at each other and fell over exhaused. µ
