Reservoir logs

SHARP made a solar power system churning out 200 kilowatts of 'licity which floats on a raft on tanks or reservoirs to soak up the rays from the sky.

According to Nikkei.net, other floating solar power systems exist but this fully fledged model can generate enough to power about 50 houses.

The cells sit on a resinous platform and the first system is already sitting on a pond next to Sharp's LCD flat panel factory in Japan.

A 200 kilowatt system will set back buyers about ¥220 million (~$1,820,000), the report said. So it's not exactly as cheap as chips. µ
