HERE'S A WANDER round the CES Show in the company of lostcircuits' Michael Schuette. Here's the INQ's own coverage, for those asleep at the back there.

Meanwhile, Mr Wong of Myworldhardware has a fiddle with Abit's IS7, board, based on Intel's 865PE chipset over here.

They've also found lime to cast an eye over Seagate's latest Barracuda, the 7200.7, here.

The X-Bit boys have got their hands on a Club3D Volari Duo V8 Ultra. Their assessment of XGI's chances begins here.

The Neoseeker takes a look at Gigabyte's GV-R96X128D 9600 XT over here. No Screen Rotation or Overdrive but a dread fancy heatsink, is the verdict.

The benefits and the disadvantages of Serial ATA are explored down in Tweaktown. A big deal? Maybe.

Over at HotHardware there's a look at Hercules Prophetview 920 Pro DVI, a 17" LCD with a very respectable 20ms pixel response time, they say. Wibble hither.

Here's another competition - a creative writing contest, of all things. A bunch of prizes are on offer. You must at least spell check your submission, they say, and submit it by "01/25/04 for editing and tecnical (sic) corrections." Cough! Point your pointer here.

The TechReporters enjoy a few snatched moments in the company of a Wireless Intelli VoleMouse Explorer 2.0 over here. Tilt wheel and everyt'ing.

The Overclocker Cafe takes ThermalRight's ALX-800 cooler out for a spin. Not bad for 25 bucks they reckon, over here.

Here's a look at the Aspire X-Superalien case. It's in German.

And over at Planet3DNOW! and also largely in German, a Herrn Intel-Hater has compiled a list of benchmarks for a great many systems. I dunno why he did it and I dunno who'll be interested. Are you sad enough?

Harware links appreciated by the usual suspects. µ

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
