Apple flogs a million Iphones

In three days
Mon Jul 14 2008, 16:10

APPLE SAID IT FLOGGED a million Eyephones in three days following the launch of its new model on Friday.

A chuffed Steve Jobs reckons the gadget had a "stunning opening weekend," and he may now be able to afford to go out and buy himself a new halo.

Some buyers had a bit of trouble getting the phone to work or connecting them up for "activation" or something. But they didn't care.

They can at least stuff them down the front of their trousers and wiggle them about in the hope of attracting a mate.

Something they've evidently failed to do so far. µ

Beware, sales speak...

Apple have sold 3 million iPhones.

This does not mean that 3 million people have bought iPhones. It just means that Apple have managed to transfer ownership of 3 million of them to someone else... Like carphonewarehouse etc. Maybe they should rename themselves to iPhonewarehouse.

Knowing sales spin, the 3 million probably includes pre-orders too... Given the short rationing mentioned in Inq reports, I wouldn't be surprised if Apple hadn't even made 3 million of them at this point!

Oops...

Correction to me previous comment, it's 1 million in 3 days, not 3 million!

Do you think the move was justified?
