Obviously Nvidia will have one sub $60 card, Vista capable and this one doesn't have to be DirectX 10. That's how G78 was born.
It is an ultra low-end G72 shrink and the G72 is the chip behind Geforce 7300 cards. Nvidia has shrunk the chip in order to make even more money. That is the first law of semiconductors, at least business wise.
Nvidia has to shift to 65nm chips soon, as DAAMIT might beat it to it. DAAMIT will produce all R610 and RV630 variations at this small 65 nanometre low-leak marchitecture.
Nvidia's G78 is scheduled for March/April production and the chip will have 64-bit memory only. It will run Vista aero glass just fine and that is the whole point of this card. It also has to be able to show a DVD and video and G72 will certainly do that. ยต
