UV bikini catalogue company disappears

Norway are they here
Wednesday, 2 August 2006, 12:14
VERY STRANGE. Following a story written by Reuters lifestyle editor, Belinda Goldsmith, and covered by the INQ - the maker of a UV bikini, Solestrom, appears to have disappeared off the face of the Earth.

The mystery has been uncovered by the Ottawa Citizen which was initially curious that no-one in the city had ever heard of 'Canada's Premier swimwear catalog since 1985' as Solestrom described itself.

The address originally given on the site turned out to be for a Mail Boxes Etc. franchise outlet in Hampton Park Plaza, Ottawa. The owner is returning all mail for Solestrom sent to that address.

Following the Citizen's investigation, Solestrom apparently decided that its headquarters are, in fact, in Norway. So a new address - just outside Oslo - has made a mysterious appearance on the web site.

There's also a 'European' telephone number. And guess what? When the INQ rang that number it turned out to be a branch of Regis - the office space rentals company. Who naturally have never actually heard of Solestrom.

But they did confirm the address given on the site is theirs.

The Ottawa Citizen says that no complaints have been received about Solestrom from the public yet. But don't send any money until the INQ receives the bikini - for testing purpose, of course.
